Building a renewables manufacturing hub for a GCC Ministry of Energy
Strategy& partnered with a GCC Ministry of Energy to turn the scale of renewable energy into an industrial growth engine. Building on the momentum of a large national renewables pipeline, we helped pinpoint high impact components with the greatest potential for localization, mobilized leading global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to co create and validate the investment case, and supported engagements through to the signing of key memoranda of understanding (MOUs). The initiative progressed rapidly from strategy to execution, culminating in the launch of dedicated manufacturing facilities and laying the foundation for a competitive domestic renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
Powering competitiveness through renewable energy certification
Strategy& partnered with a GCC Ministry of Energy to launch a first of its kind national renewable energy certificate (REC) system, transforming clean power into a strategic advantage for local industry. Designed to help companies navigate global carbon regimes such as the E.U.’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) while advancing domestic sustainability goals, the program moved rapidly from concept to market. Strategy& shaped the end to end REC framework, designed issuance and domestic trading mechanisms, calibrated pricing to ensure credibility and liquidity, and supported the nationwide rollout. The result was a robust, market based platform that accelerated renewable energy uptake and made domestic industries globally competitive in a carbon constrained world.
