Tarek El Zein is a Partner with Strategy& and a member of the firm’s Technology, Media, Telecommunications, and Digital practice.

With over 20 years of consulting experience, he advises a wide range of clients across the region — including national ministries, cultural and tourism authorities, infrastructure bodies, and leading telecom groups. Tarek's expertise encompasses large-scale transformation programs, digital and ICT strategies, corporate strategy development, institutional launch readiness, as well as arts and prominent cultural assets.

His client experience includes working with Middle East telecom operators, supporting them in redefining and implementing go-to-market strategies and value propositions through digital customer experiences and the development of next-generation ICT services and solutions. He has led corporate strategy development at the group level for the region’s largest telecom operators. 

Tarek has also spearheaded regional culture and values transformation projects for prominent arts, heritage, and tourism institutions. His work includes launch readiness programs and urban development strategies executed in collaboration with leading city authorities.

He has partnered extensively with government entities on designing national ICT strategies to help create new and sustainable economic impact. Additionally, he has provided hands-on support to technology incubators and multinational corporations to further the growth of innovation, entrepreneurship, and venture capital across the MENA region.

Tarek holds an MBA from IE Business School and a bachelor’s degree in business economics from Fordham University.
