Massimo Sabella

Massimo Sabella is a Partner with Strategy& and a member of the firm’s Mobility, Aerospace, Infrastructure and Tourism practice in the Middle East.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the aerospace and defense sector, combining management consulting with extensive industry and military experience. He advises aerospace and defense OEMs, major suppliers, and Ministries of Defense on strategy, large-scale transformation, M&A and post-merger integration, operational excellence, supply chain, cost reduction, and performance improvement.

He has particular expertise across advanced defense platforms and systems, sustainment and MRO, space and satellite programs, operating model design, procurement excellence, footprint restructuring, and digital transformation.

Before joining Strategy&, Massimo built extensive experience across the aerospace and defense sector, advising on strategy and transformation projects across Europe and the Middle East. His background also spans senior roles with the Italian Ministry of Defense, the F-35 program with Lockheed Martin/US Air Force, and the Italian Air Force.

Massimo has authored proprietary aerospace benchmarks and thought leadership, including work on commercial fleet forecasts and engine maintenance capacity.

Massimo holds an MBA from IMD Business School, a master’s degree in procurement and supply chain management from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Naples. He is also a Distinguished Graduate of the United States Air Force Test Pilot School and holds PMP certification.
