Partner, Strategy& Middle East
James Thomas is a Partner with Strategy& and a member of the Energy, Chemicals, and Utilities team specializing in the oil and gas industry.
In addition to his industry knowledge, James has functional expertise in planning and performance management, and as the lead for the Katzenbach Center in the Middle East he is also well-versed in culture and behavior transformation. This unique blend of experience allows James to drive business development at a number of energy and mining clients and support other practices in deepening senior relationships and generating new opportunities through conversations on culture and behavior.
In addition to his client work, he has co-authored several Strategy& reports, including “A culture of success: Using culture for world-class results in GCC companies” and “The Changing Face of NOCs: Integrated Planning and Performance Management in Middle East Oil Companies.”
James joined Strategy& in 2007. Prior to joining, he worked in IBM Business Consulting Services’ industrial practice and at Deloitte in their energy, infrastructure and utilities practice.
He holds a BSc in computer science from the University of Durham.
