Alexey Khokhlov

Alexey is a Senior Executive Advisor with Strategy& and a member of the Energy, Resources, and Sustainability practice.

He has more than 15 years of consulting experience, assisting clients in the power and energy sectors. Alexey also served for five years as the director of strategy and head of power and utilities research at Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. His main areas of expertise include strategy development, organization design, and business transformation.

For more than a decade, Alexey has also been extensively involved in the formation and global expansion of nuclear energy projects. Some examples include:

• developing a corporate organizational model and a framework for company-wide business processes, as well as by outlining key divisions and their interactions with headquarters
• supporting the development of the international expansion ambition for the national nuclear champion, including detailed market analysis and roadmaps for nine key target macro-regions across nuclear value chain elements
• participating in the launch of a dedicated company focusing on the nuclear new build projects abroad and eventually securing a 10-year portfolio of orders from international clients exceeding $150 billion
• serving as the director of the corporate education programs for the national nuclear champion’s executive managers of new build nuclear power plants in Russia and abroad; responsibilities included designing the program’s logic, selecting speakers, facilitating discussions with program participants, and building training simulations—one of the program’s outcomes was a manager’s handbook, which described specific checklists and lessons learned across all phases of project implementation

Alexey holds an MBA from the University of Wyoming and a bachelor of science in applied mathematics from Saratov State University in Russia.
