Q&A
Q: What's been your favourite project so far at PwC's Strategy&?
A: In my brief time at Strategy& I’ve been privileged to work on a broad range of projects across a number of industries, from growth strategies in Retail, Commercial Due Diligence in Private Equity, to major business transformations across Transport and Healthcare.
Of these, my favourite project to date is one where we worked with an ASX 100 General Practice (GP) company to define an overall portfolio strategy for their business. In this, we reviewed their existing business model, where and how they participated in the market, and provided alternative options of where they should focus their business in the future.
For me, this project was fantastic for three reasons:
- I have a big interest in healthcare and love working in the industry
- The project presented a very challenging problem, but one with big impacts — we were recommending a fundamental shift in their business model and it would have a profound effect on the market
- It has a tangible impact that I can actually experience in my day-to-day life; the client agreed with our findings and is in the process of implementing the idea (Strategy& is still involved in this).
Q: Why did you join Strategy&?
A: I chose to join Strategy& because of the opportunities and trajectory it afforded me at a very early stage in my career. Beyond this, I was amazed with how intelligent, yet down-to-earth the people were, and saw Strategy& as a great place to kick-start my career. I haven’t looked back since.
Q: Beyond Strategy&?
A: When not working, I focus on outdoor activities (skiing, beach, etc.), fitness, and spending time with family and friends. And, of course, I love to travel! There is something about visiting unfamiliar places which I crave… so far I’ve visited more than 20 different countries and have no plans of slowly down!
