Sarah Butler is a Sydney-based Partner leading PwC’s Health practice in Australia across Consulting, Financial Advisory (Deals, Tax and Legal) and Assurance as well as PwC’s Health Consulting practice in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. She is also a member of PwC Australia's Board of Partners and Vision 2020 leadership team. With over 25 years consulting experience, she has worked across the sector including insurance, health services and pharma. She was previously on the Booz & Company global Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee, and led our Strategy business in Greater China for 5 years. She has been based in London, Sydney and Shanghai and has worked for clients in over 20 countries.
Sarah’s focus is on strategy and transformation within the health and insurance sectors. She has led several projects such as setting up a health insurance joint venture between Allianz and CPIC (top SOE) in China, shaping the industry strategic agenda and policy papers for the health insurance industry association and improving quality of care, service and efficiency for a top hospital. She has authored many thought leadership viewpoints on health, insurance and China.
Sarah has a BA Honours and MA in Natural Sciences (Chemistry) from Cambridge University. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was on the UTS China Research Centre Advisory Board. She has four children and has enjoyed being able to follow a flexible career path, including 10 years working part-time.
