John works as Managing Director at Strategy& in the A&D Advisory practice. He brings over 23 years of consulting and industry experience in the A&D sector and has deep expertise in global defense market. From a functional perspective, his primary focus is corporate and business strategy and sector-specific market analysis. His relationships are deeply anchored across the defense sector including senior executives from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Raytheon, Leidos, Engility, Fincantieri, among many other firms.

John is a tenured senior advisor with experience at Booz Allen, McKinsey, Oliver Wyman, A.T. Kearney, and most recently at Avascent, a well-known A&D consultancy, where he served as a Managing Director. He also served as Vice President, Commercial Ventures, Raytheon Company, and Director, Strategy and Corporate Development, Aerojet. Prior to his consulting and industry experience, John served for eight years in the U.S. Navy as a carrier aviator, and as Secretary of the Navy’s Liaison Officer, U.S. House of Representatives. As a leading expert in the defense industry he is under a small number of persons who routinely speak at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch’s annual Defense Forum.

John holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BSE in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan.
