Programme

  • Tuesday 15 May
  • Wednesday 16 May
  • Thursday 17 May
  • Friday 18 May
Tuesday 15 May

Ready for takeoff! Today we start our adventure in Milan by introducing the case and teaching you our Hypothesis Driven Approach so you start approaching problems like a real consultant. We close off the day in a typical Italian restaurant, one of our favorites here in Milan. After dinner you will get the chance to explore the city in style!

Wednesday 16 May

It's number crunching day! A seasoned consultant knows his or her way around complex models. We will give you a glimpse of our work and you'll have a chance to show off your skills in this arena. Your day will include field research (and that means luxury store visits!). After all, you do need to understand your client and its consumers, right? We will finish the day with fine Italian cuisine.

Thursday 17 May

You've formulated the hypotheses, crunched the numbers and undertaken field research - now you and your team are ready to develop and analyze possible interventions. The job of a consultant will become even more clear to you today. This is the perfect moment to fly back to Amsterdam for a meet and greet with our colleagues over dinner and drinks.

Friday 18 May

Today each team will have time to put its recommendations on paper before presenting them to our client panel in the afternoon. We'll give you a hand by teaching you how to write and present your recommendations in an impactful (and hopefully winning!) manner. Following the presentations, our panel will select the winning team and together, we will celebrate with drinks on our executive meeting floor. With the fun and eventful week behind you, you will be set for the weekend, knowing what the life of a consultant is like.

Experience the capital of luxury goods: Milan

On the first day, Tuesday 15 May, we will set off for the capital of luxury goods: Milan. During our stay in Milan, you will build the future strategy of an iconic luxury brand (the client) and will have the opportunity to perform store visits and interact directly with the client! This gives you the excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with the way of working in strategy consulting. Needless to say, there will be plenty of time to get to know our consultants while enjoying the beautiful city of Milan!

On Thursday afternoon, we will head back to Amsterdam and have a dinner and club night with the entire Amsterdam office, giving you an insight into our company culture. On Friday you will finalize the case and present your results to a group of industry experts.

Throughout the business course, you will be coached by our experienced consultants during your case work. Furthermore, there will be numerous feedback sessions that contribute to your personal development. You will become familiar with our approach and working style, and learn about the day-to-day responsibilities and challenges of our consultants along the way.

We are looking for talented Master’s students in the final stage of their studies from all academic backgrounds and universities. A firm grasp of the Dutch language is required.

Selected participants for the business course will not only have a marvelous strategy consulting experience, but will also get the opportunity to be ‘fast-tracked’ during the formal hiring process for an Associate position at Strategy&.
