Dr. Marcus Ehrhardt is an advisor to executives in the healthcare industry for Strategy&, PwC’s strategy consulting business. Based in New York, he is a Principal with PwC US. He is a member of the Operations practice and is aligned to the global health/ life science team. His focus is on operations strategy in the pharmaceutical industry. A specialist in Strategy Based Transformation, Performance Improvement Programs and Supply Chain Management (including Manufacturing Footprint Design, Supply Chain Planning, Sourcing and Pharma-Distribution), Marcus has more than 12 years of consulting experience.
Recent assignments include a Global Sourcing Program for a pharmaceutical company, development of a European Distribution/ Commercial Trade Channel Strategy for a top tier pharmaceutical company as well as a feasibility study on Collaborative Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Marcus has authored several articles on Operations Strategy and Lifescience Industry Trends, including the strategy+business magazine article “Five Steps toward a Revitalized Pharmaceutical Supply Chain”.
Prior to joining Strategy&, Marcus worked at General Motors both in Europe and the US, and for the Department of Economics at Frankfurt University on an international research project on Technology and Innovation Management.
Marcus studied Business Administration (first receiving an MBA followed by a Ph.D. – summa cum laude) at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and Stanford University. He was awarded an ERP-Scholarship by the German Ministry of Trade and Commerce and the German National Scholarship Foundation. Marcus is author of a book and several articles in the field of competitive strategy and technology innovation as well as supply chain management and was a lecturer for economics at the Business School of Finance and Management (HfB) in Frankfurt/Main.
