Laurens Petten is a Partner in the Consumer and Retail practice of Strategy&, the strategy consulting team at PwC. Based in Amsterdam, he focuses on the Fit for Growth* platform, Strategy&’s approach to cost transformation and operational improvement that enables growth. His work has an emphasis on operating model design and large-scale transformation support.
Some of Laurens’ recent client assignments include:
- Designing and managing a €600Mn, multi-year cost reduction and operating model simplification program for a €7Bn division of a large conglomerate across overheads, commercial activities and operations
- Leading the strategy-based operating model transformation for a European technical services company with the aim of improving entrepreneurship and enabling growth in a mature market
- Designing and leading the Euro zone’s 2014 Asset Quality Review program for a national central bank across a 60 people client team and 250+ external experts and contributors
Laurens joined the firm as a Consultant in 2003 in the Amsterdam office. He has worked extensively across geographies, including a 2-year transfer in New York. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a MSc. in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
In 2011 Laurens and his wife drove from Cairo to Cape Town in their own Land Rover, an adventure they hope to repeat in the not-too-distant future together with their two daughters.
