“Consumers are looking for a coherent multichannel shopping experience that encompasses online, mobile, social, and in-store components.”
Over the past few years Strategy& has hosted a series of very successful mobile payments events in London. With this in mind we decided to broaden the discussion to mobile commerce. We believe there is great activity and interest in the wider topic of mobile enabled retailing following the launch of the iPad and iAds, the growth of mobile applications related to ticketing, vouchers/coupons and location-based services, the evolution of social media as a channel for commerce, as well as the evolution of pre-paid and contactless credit cards.
Discussion topics included: What are the key consumer trends we see in the UK regarding mobile commerce?
Who are the early winners in this space and what can we learn from them?
How are retailers, FMCG companies, financial services companies and mobile network operators adapting to this changing dynamic?
What more needs to be done and with what degree of urgency and investment?
The discussion wasled by our industry speakers:
Ashley Machin, Digital Banking Director, Lloyds Banking Group
Scott Seaborn, Head of Mobile Technologies, Ogilvy Group UK
Strategy& provided a perspective on industry insights and best practices and facilitated the discussion.
