Our internships provide students from different backgrounds a great opportunity to learn more about Strategy&, understand the role of a consultant and to engage with clients on the projects we work on.

During a three month internship you will be part of an (international) project team and work consecutively on two or three different projects offering you a full view on the work we do for our clients. You will use your skills to work with clients through all stages of a project. You will be given responsibility for particular portions of the work, you work with and at the client and we offer you a wide-range of training and mentoring by Strategy& consultants to make sure you will get to most out of this experience.

Your internship will be completed with an assessment which will give you a good overview of your strengths and areas to develop on. If this assessment shows good results this can be the successful start of a career at Strategy&.

A blend of talents and skills is required of successful Internship candidates:

  • A high level of general intelligence and academic achievement
  • Real thought leadership, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills (which includes both a quantitative and a qualitative orientation)

Associates at Strategy& are typically high achievers with a Master’s degree and an exceptional academic record. Our Associate hires come from a variety of degree disciplines. They will have demonstrated international experience, participation in extra-curricular activities and demonstrate the energy, commitment and drive necessary to succeed at Strategy&.

As an Associate, you will perform a wide variety of tasks. On any given project, you might be asked to analyse a company’s costs to identify savings, build a business case to evaluate an opportunity, construct a presentation to demonstrate solutions to client executives, conduct interviews to gather data or research companies to gain external market perspectives. Associates also contribute to other activities in the office; they are often at the forefront of organising social activities, get involved in pro bono work and attend recruiting events. Strategy& recruits MBA and post-graduate students from leading business schools around the world. An MBA or advanced degree candidate will typically join Strategy& as a Senior Associate with variations depending upon experience.

A blend of talents and skills is required of successful Senior Associate candidates, including:

  • An advanced degree, such as a MBA or PhD
  • 4-7 years of relevant industry or functional work experience showing strong career progression and (academic) achievement
  • Practical experience in one or more of the following:
    • Strategy or strategic planning
    • Strategic project leadership
    • Organizational restructuring/transformation
    • Finance or business operations
    • Business development, marketing, or sales

Senior Associates work with clients through all stages of consulting projects: identifying the major issues that the client is facing, generating hypotheses against those issues, structuring and performing analyses, identifying creative but pragmatic options against the identified issues, developing conclusions, making strategic recommendations, and then developing plans to operationalize the agreed strategy. As a Senior Associate you are often end to end responsible for a work stream within the project working directly with Strategy& and client team members. You might manage a team of consultants and you will work across a variety of industries and often at the client site. Travel can be a part of the job.
