Our internships provide students from different backgrounds a great opportunity to learn more about Strategy&, understand the role of a consultant and to engage with clients on the projects we work on.

During a three month internship you will be part of an (international) project team and work consecutively on two or three different projects offering you a full view on the work we do for our clients. You will use your skills to work with clients through all stages of a project. You will be given responsibility for particular portions of the work, you work with and at the client and we offer you a wide-range of training and mentoring by Strategy& consultants to make sure you will get to most out of this experience.

Your internship will be completed with an assessment which will give you a good overview of your strengths and areas to develop on. If this assessment shows good results this can be the successful start of a career at Strategy&.

As an Associate, you will perform a wide variety of tasks. On any given project, you might be asked to analyse a company’s costs to identify savings, build a business case to evaluate an opportunity, construct a presentation to demonstrate solutions to client executives, conduct interviews to gather data or research companies to gain external market perspectives. Associates also contribute to other activities in the office; they are often at the forefront of organising social activities, get involved in pro bono work and attend recruiting events. Strategy& recruits MBA and post-graduate students from leading business schools around the world. An MBA or advanced degree candidate will typically join Strategy& as a Senior Associate with variations depending upon experience.

A blend of talents and skills is required of successful Senior Associate candidates, including:

  • An advanced degree, such as a MBA or PhD
  • 4-7 years of relevant industry or functional work experience showing strong career progression and (academic) achievement

Senior Associates work with clients through all stages of consulting projects: identifying the major issues that the client is facing, generating hypotheses against those issues, structuring and performing analyses, identifying creative but pragmatic options against the identified issues, developing conclusions, making strategic recommendations, and then developing plans to operationalize the agreed strategy. As a Senior Associate you are often end to end responsible for a work stream within the project working directly with Strategy& and client team members. You might manage a team of consultants and you will work across a variety of industries and often at the client site. Travel can be a part of the job.

Who are you?

  • 1-3 years of work experience in an international professional services environment

What does your job role looks like?

The Recruiter is responsible for:

  • Screening of resumes for consultant positions and (in-house) recruitment events
  • Coordination of the interview process, including debrief sessions, evaluations and feedback for candidates
  • Contact and follow up with (potential) candidates
  • Creating the recruitment year-plan and scheduling of on-campus and in-house events
  • Organization and guidance of in-house and on-campus events
  • Preparing and managing the monthly Amsterdam recruitment team meeting
  • Maintaining strong relationships with recruitment agencies
  • Control the Strategy& recruitment budget

Strategy& has two recruiters, the recruitment team of Strategy& is part of PwC’s Advisory recruitment team. Together, this team consists of five recruiters. The Advisory recruitment team works together with the other sub-recruitment teams in Audit & Assurance and Tax & HRS. In total, there are 19 people in recruitment, engaged in the recruitment and selection of both starters and professionals. As one of the recruiter you work on a day to day basis with the strategy consulting staff ad Strategy& partners and Directors. Your formal reporting line lies within the PwC recruiting function and your formal line manager is the PwC recruitment manager.
