Mark Hoffman


Mark Hoffman is an advisor to executives in the Energy, Chemicals, and Utilities sector for Strategy&, PwC’s strategy consulting group. Based in Houston, he is a principal with PwC U.S. He focuses on the utilities industry, where he specializes in operations improvement (e.g., transmission and distribution productivity and asset management), smart grid strategy and pre- and post-merger integration.

Mark also executes Fit for Growth* projects, helping utility clients enable sustained growth through consolidation, cost take out, capability build-up and organizational transformation.

Some of his recent client assignments include:

  • Led the MLP spinoff of pipeline assets for a Midwestern combination utility
  • Led the integration of a Southeast and Southwest utility’s assets
  • Led the identification of distribution operations field productivity enhancements for a southwest electric company
  • Led the optimization of the work management function for a West Coast utility
  • Led the development of a distribution operations operating model and organizational design for a West Coast utility

Prior to joining Strategy& in 2004, Mark was a senior manager at Deloitte, where he also focused on the utilities industry.

He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Texas, and an MBA from Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University.

Mark is the father of three college students and enjoys golf and hunting.
