Ken Favaro is a Strategy& Senior Partner responsible for enhancing the firm’s capabilities and reputation in value based management, strategic management, and organic growth, working closely with the organization and change leadership team. His focus is on the consumer, healthcare, and financial industries.
Ken joined Strategy& from Marakon Associates, where he first worked as a Summer Associate. He rose rapidly through the ranks to become CEO and, subsequently, Co-Chairman. During his distinguished 25-year career, he worked with many of the world’s leading companies on strategy, execution, growth, productivity, leadership and organization. The depth and breadth of Ken’s expertise stem from serving global clients across many industries, spanning financial services, consumer products, healthcare, heavy manufacturing, retailing, media and telecommunications.
Ken’s published articles include “Creating an Organic Growth Machine” and “Five Rules for Retailing in a Recession,” published in the Harvard Business Review, and “Organic Growth Is the Underestimated Opportunity” on HBR.org. He also co-authored the book The Three Tensions: Winning the Struggle to Perform Without Compromise.
Ken holds a B.S. in civil engineering from Stanford University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He also holds an M.B.A. from Stanford, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
Ken met his wife, Lisa, at Stanford’s business school (he spotted her across the aisle while placing out of first-year accounting), and subsequently embarked on a 25-year-and-counting marriage with three kids. They raised their kids in England but are now putting them through U.S. universities. Ken likes sports and exercise of all kinds, including basketball, swimming, golf, hiking, the body blade, elliptical, pilates, and yoga, among others. He has never had a quiet life, thanks to his four brothers and sister.
