Examples of Dr. Rotering’s recent assignments include:
- Efficiency Improvement — Dr. Rotering led several efficiency improvement assignments in the oil and chemicals industry, including a large joint client/consultant team in preparation for divestment of the polymers division of a large major chemical company. The effort involved identifying, quantifying, and implementing significant efficiency improvements in sourcing (raw materials, indirect spend, and services), personnel costs, (headcount and costs per head), and material costs.
- Post-Merger Integration (PMI) — Dr. Rotering led several PMI projects in the oil and chemicals industry, including a two-year PMI project that involved both pre-merger and post-merger planning for a large multinational oil company. The work resulted in significant efficiency improvements and additional margin enhancements through improved product and network optimization.
- Program Management — Dr. Rotering led the Program Management Office for a large carve-out project in the downstream oil industry. He was responsible for defining support processes and contracts as well as for the integration into the parent company. He delivered the fully functioning organization on time and with higher savings than originally planned.
Prior to joining Strategy&, Dr. Rotering was a vice president at A. T. Kearney. He holds a PhD (Dr. rer. pol) in organization and strategic alliances from the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management and M.Sc (Dipl.-Kfm.) in business administration from the University of Bayreuth.
