Telematics strategy for automotive VM

A European automotive VM wanted to develop a telematics adoption plan (when, on which brands, on which carlines, using which technical solution, etc.) in the wake of changing European regulation on automatic calling of emergency services after an accident. This regulation would provide a platform for provision of other telematics services.

Strategy& developed a robust market and customer understanding to support decision making through focus groups in 3 countries, quantitative market research in the top seven markets, and interviews across the value chain. As a result, the team developed a telematics adoption business case for a range of alternative launch variables such as hardware solutions, car line and brand coverage, service packages, pricing model, roll-out timing, and roll-out country.
