The top innovators and spenders

In each of the ten Global Innovation 1000 studies, Strategy& has identified and published the top 20 publicly traded companies worldwide that spent the most on R&D. In addition, for the past five years we have asked the Global Innovation 1000 survey respondents to name the companies they thought were the world’s most innovative.

Please note that we have applied a new R&D calculation methodology to all 10 years of our data, so some companies and figures from our previous studies have changed.
