“Four to Leave Hewlett-Packard Board in Revamp”
In its January 21, 2011 edition, The Financial Times was among a score of global publications reporting that Booz & Company CEO Shumeet Banerji (Europe/North America) was nominated to the Board of Directors of Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) as one of its outside independent Directors. As an HP board member, Banerji will be joining a number of well-known executives—including Marc Andreessen, Larry Babbio, Rajiv Gupta, and John Hammergren—who serve as board members. Banerji and four other new directors will stand for election at HP’s annual meeting of stockholders in March. Extending the invitation to the board was Ray Lane, Non-executive Chairman of HP’s Board, and one of Booz & Company’s most esteemed Senior Partner alumni. “Shumeet Banerji is a respected strategic adviser and will bring to the HP board international, financial, operational and management experience,” said Lane in making the announcement. “(He has) a true understanding of the issues facing companies and governments in both mature and emerging markets around the world.”
